EVENTS
"Vulnerability is a source of inspirational theatre, and at TOE we encourage everyone with varying levels of experience to create a personal connection with a relevant story, their collaborators, and their community."
Every season, TOE hosts a series of curated events where established and emerging writers, actors, and musicians perform a piece of their choice in front of an audience.
Vulnerability is a source of inspirational theatre, and at TOE we encourage everyone to share new work and take a risk with the support of their collaborators and their community. TOE believes in equitable access to the arts, so we have installed a "Pay What You Want" system for attending the shows.
During the pandemic, TOE has remained resilient with the continued support of our members. We offered our events online, mainly through Facebook Live.

On January 26 at 7:30 pm, Theatre Ouest End invites you to MORALITY BITES V– a night of new short play readings!
Since our first dramatic reading event in 2019, and continuing with Still Got Something to Say: 6 Plays on Age, The Covenant, What Rough Beast, and Mickey & Joe (Good. Bad. Ugly. Dirty), Theatre Ouest End has always been committed to making theatre that asks the big questions about who we are as individuals in our political, historical and social context. With that commitment in mind, we are offering a FIFTH evening of 2 short plays by Ann Lambert, each examining a different bite-size moral dilemma with a side of humor:
On the Bus and Do Not Turn Around by Ann Lambert
It promises to be a night of dramatic readings with a difference—you, the audience will be invited (if you want) to weigh in on the choices the characters make. Did they do the right thing? What is the right thing? Is there a right thing?
This event will feature a terrific local cast (details to come!) and will happen in the gallery at the Centaur Theatre.
Join us for a drink, a snack, and an entertaining and engaging night of theatre.
First 50 attendees receive a complimentary drink ticket!
Bring your friends and family. We can’t wait to see you!
TICKETS: are FREE but a donation of $10 would be very appreciated. $20 even better!

Bad. Ugly.
On the Bus et Do Not Turn Around par Ann Lambert

Unbuckling My Bible Belt - Film Screening
On Thursday, JANUARY 25 at 7:30 pm please join us for a screening of Laura Mitchell and Patricia Tassinari's timely and compelling documentary: UNBUCKLING MY BIBLE BELT.
How often do you authentically interact with people who hold different opinions or values from you? How can you get along with people whose ideas you find offensive and even dangerous? And what if those people were your family? How important is it to engage in conversations with people whose ideas and beliefs clash so completely with your own?
These and many more issues are explored in this compelling documentary, where two women, 40 cans of Canadian maple syrup, and an old blue Volvo hit the road through the Southern USA. Using her family tree as a road map, Laura, an expatriate American, leads her friend, Patricia, a Canadian, to a home that no longer exists. Following the death of her mother, a rare progressive Democrat in a deeply religious and mostly right-wing family, Laura returns home to reconnect with her sprawling Southern clan through seven bible-belt states. She needs to see what remains of her mother’s ideals of justice and compassion in the land of hard-core Bush supporters. The film maps out a journey that allows us to see the Bible Belt as a cinematic complex of characters--cousins and cowboys, drag queens and preachers, atheists and fundamentalist—all who populate this unique world.
Unbuckling My Bible Belt is as relevant today as it was in 2006 when it was filmed; do not miss this intimate portrayal of the South as it captures the beauty and starkness of the landscape as well as the complex relationship these Southerners have with their God.
Refreshments will be served and the film will be followed by a discussion with Laura Mitchell.
Bring your friends and family. We can’t wait to see you!

Since our first dramatic reading event in 2019, and continuing with Still Got Something to Say: 6 Plays on Age, The Covenant and What Rough Beast, Theatre Ouest End has always been committed to making theatre that asks the big questions about who we are as individuals in our political, historical and social context. With that commitment in mind, we are offering an evening of 3 short plays by Alice Abracen, Ann Lambert and Laura Mitchell, each examining a different bite-size moral dilemma with a side of humor.
It promises to be a night of dramatic readings with a difference—you, the audience will be invited (if you want) to weigh in on the choices the characters make. Did they do the right thing? What is the right thing? Is there a right thing?
This event will feature a terrific local cast (details to come!) and will happen at our new and wonderful space at Cité des Hospitaliers at 251 Pine Ave. West.
Join us for a drink, a snack, and an entertaining and engaging night of theatre!
Bring your friends and family. We can’t wait to see you!
TICKETS: are FREE but a donation of $10 would be very appreciated. $20 even better!
